Theatre
The famous venue was built during what’s widely considered as the ‘golden age’ of Egyptian cinema. So, back then there was a great desire to build arthouse spaces that stood as a spatial manifestations of the arts and culture scene at its zenith. After all of Cinema Radio’s activities came to a halt in the mid-2000s, Al Ismaelia for Real Estate Development acquired the building in 2009 to revive the legacy location. Some of the most notable figures to fill the space since are Bassem Youssef with his show ‘Al Barnameg’ in 2011, and everyone’s favourite silver-tongued puppet ‘Abla Fahita’.
